I'm at a loss, please advise what I can do short of buying another malware removal tool. I'm beginning to think the malware is still infecting my system and that Malwarebytes has been unsuccessful in ridding my computer of it. Also, in the address bar there was a warning that said something like: an unauthorized program was trying to open. I regained stability only after closing the file. Unfortunately, when I tried to run it, my system became unstable. I was beginning to feel safe again but wanted to see if I could run MS Security Scanner all-the-way-through ( ) before visiting bank sites.
Instead of calling, I did the following: 1) a Ctr>Alt>Del to free my system from the popup 2) a Restore back to a date one day earlier 3) ran Microsoft's Malicious Software Removal Tool which seized after running about 7 hours (3/4s the way through) I ran free versions of AVG, Search and Destroy Spy Bot? and Malwarebytes finally, I purchased the Premium version of Malwarebytes and ran it twice (no infections were found in the last run).įor several hours yesterday and this morning, everything was just fine - no instability, running fast, and nothing unexpected occurred. A popup seized my computer and used scare language about damaging my hard drive if I did not call the number given. But, my computer became infected or I first became aware of an attack after putting SP in front of a YouTube video address that I tried to download. I have been using Microsoft Security Essentials to protect my system w/o any known threats for many years. Here are the files as attachments with a copy of my original post. Could not cut and paste these files together or separately as I got a file too big error.
